In 1963, singer Eddy Mitchell left his band “Les Chaussettes Noires” and started a solo career. He went to London in October to record new material with British musicians (including the very young Jimmy Page and Big Jim Sullivan). The result was "Eddy In London", an album of French language cover versions of numbers by his rock ‘n’ roll heroes: Eddie Cochran, Elvis Presley, Gene Vincent, Little Richard, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison...
