Various Artists – Boots Of Spanish Leather - 30 Great Versions

A song written by Bob Dylan, recorded by him in August 1963, it first appeared on his third LP “ The Times They Are A-Changin’ “ in 1964.

It bears more than resemblance both for the melody and the theme of the lyrics, to “Girl From The North Country” from his earlier second LP, “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan“.

More, both songs are more than strongly inspired by two folk ballads, “Black Jack Davey” (that he also recorded for his 1992 album “Good As I Been To You”) and “Scarborough Fair”, the latter rmostly made famous by Simon And Garfunkel.
